Personality
Damon is the guy who will defend what's right no matter the cost. He's a good guy with a serious defensive mode, and has a habit of taking people under his wing. This most likely stems from his natural instincts to be the defensive older brother to his sister Wren. Having been raised essentially to be a politician, due to his family's Osbreon roots, Damon has absolutely no tolerance for disrespect, and will strive towards improving his surroundings to the point where he is satisfied. At the end of the day though, so long as nothing is irking him, he is really a pleasant and quiet fellow. The forest is a peaceful place for him, and literature is his personal pleasure. Knowledge, in any form, is power, and power means being able to protect those he loves. Ambitious and defensive basically sums him up in two words.
History
Damon was raised in the Osbreon ways, despite living on Askion. The result was a confusing mix of the structured Osbreon life style and the laid back, more peaceful life of Askion. They lived in town, straying away from the cabin lifestyle that was per norm within Askion, and taught Damon as if he were to be sent to compete against the other politicians in Osbreon. Though he doubted this would ever happen, he celebrated the ability to learn, and liked the idea that he would be able to influence things in a positive way, instead of going along with the flow that ruined things in it's wake. As such, he did his best to dabble in many respectable trades, learning different perspectives and bits of knowledge that he considered would one day come in handy. Though Damon's mother hardly approved of some of the things he studied (mechanics and such lower trades), his father supported him, considering only that one day it would help him rise in the ranks the day he landed in Osbreon. Knowing about the planet though, Damon had no interest in following that path.
The forest was always a peaceful place, and though the city held the knowledge he craved, it was a constant inner tug of war which one he favored most. He doubted, should the opportunity arise, that he would be able to handle the noise and bustle of a city-based lifestyle. The town already seemed somewhat too big, and at times was too much. He craved the outdoor lifestyle that meant spending the entirety of one's time outdoors until the sun fell and the creatures began rustling up trouble. He knew Wren especially had an issue with this, and her habit of sneaking out often had him getting up late at night just to ensure she was alright. If only his parents knew, then perhaps they'd see that it would be safer to let her explore in daylight... but he would never betray her. They had a certain understanding between them that went past words, because in a mixed world, as they had grown up in, very few could understand their level of diversity.
When Wren had been summoned for the project, he couldn't help being worried. She could get herself into trouble at times, and the mere idea that she'd be so far away... incomprehensible. When he received his summons the next day, he was, frankly, relieved. However facing his parents upon saying goodbye was one of the hardest things he's had to do. The pain in his parent's eyes at losing both their children, and knowing that he'd be leaving them alone, and all that they had worked towards was gone... heartbreaking. But Wren needed him more, and the idea of trying to resist the summons was unthinkable. Wren needed him. He'd go without complaint.
