Personality
Dillinger perceives the world as a giant machine. Everything and everyone has it's part, it's place, it's purpose. In order for the machine to work flawlessly all of it's parts need to mesh perfectly. Things needed to be finely adjusted and tuned and people need to get along. Because of that the man tries his best to get on with just about everyone he meets and with his jovial laugh and ever present smile it's not too difficult. Because of his rough charm Dillinger is in no short supply of friends. Though, his blunt manner of speaking and strict adherence to his belief has made him his fair share of enemies. Like many from Osqilon, Dillinger loves to celebrate and generally make mischief. Prone to getting a bit too drunk and making a bit too much noise.
History
Dillinger was the product of a chance meeting between blacksmith Blake Dillinger and scientist Verona Blithely. The two met on Asnarth where Blake was seeing to some business. A chance encounter at a bar and few too many drinks was all it took for the two to fall into bed. The following morning Blake returned home and nine months later Reed was born. He resided with his mother for most of his life, attending Asnarth schools. His father was relatively clueless of his existence, his mother not too keen on the idea of sharing her only son. His time at Asnarth provided the boy with a marvelous education that most children in other sectors lacked and experience with various races. He never thought to leave Asnarth until his mother was given a special project that required her to travel away from their home planet. With no family to turn to Verona could only seek out Blake for assistance.
The meeting between Blake and Reed was rather tense. It took a bit of convincing before Blake would acknowledge the resemblance and accept the child. Since Reed's conception Blake had returned home, married, and started a family. With the inclusion of a new member things got interesting. Cecilia, Reed's new half sister took to him quickly, while his new step mother took longer. Blake took the longest, often ignoring the boy. He probably would have never acknowledged Reed if it wasn't for a certain series of events. Blake had become swamped with jobs and experienced smiths were in short supply at the moment. Seeking help wherever he could he put his new son in front of the forge until he could find someone more suitable. It was to his amazement that the boy took to working with metal like he was born to do it.
A love was born between the two in the fires of Blake's forge. He encouraged the boy's natural talents for creation and Reed was simply happy to find acceptance. As Reed and his skills grew he began to work the forge on his own, making projects. He had noticed they had been creating parts for machines he knew of back home and some that he'd only seen blueprints of on his mother's computer. His interest piqued he began to experiment with creating these parts and building these machines. He tinkered and tooled, slowly learning his mother's trade. It was easy, he'd been in school to follow her footsteps and listening to her talk of work constantly had planted a decent idea of what to do.
At the age of eighteen he returned to Asnarth on his own to receive a proper education on how to create machines. Before Dillinger could officially complete his schooling he received a summons to join Project Eden. Feeling it to be his civil duty he left school, hopeful that he could help tame the new frontier.
