No matter what her mood, water always seemed to help. It would relax her when she was stressed, wake her up when she was tired, mellow her when she was excitable. It goes on. It was like her own personal drug, an addicting one at that. Like today for example, she had been very much moody, sitting there angry for no reason at all. All it took was for her sitting on the edge of the dock and dipping her bare toes into the crystal clear lake water to calm her down. She had totally forgotten that she was angry and moody, it was like a restart to the day.
Wearing a pair of cut off shorts she submerged her feet into the water, lightly kicking them back and forth, a smile replacing the frown that had tried to take hold. She sighed, completely content. As soon as the sun offered more heat she would jump in. Glancing around her surroundings, she shook her head in disbelief. She still could hardly believe she was here, on Eden. It seemed like yesterday when they had arrived, but in the same token, it felt like she had lived here for so much longer. As she sat there, she got lost in her own thoughts, becoming completely unaware of her surroundings.

Petrica made his way down to the lake. He wasn't wearing good clothes to swim in, just jeans, a t shirt, and an old flannel shirt over the t shirt, but he figured either way it was too cold to swim right now. He wondered if anyone would have any swimsuits for sale this summer though, because he's pretty sure he forgot to pack one. Not that he was much of a swimmer but it was fun sometimes on hot afternoons.
As he walked slowly around the lake he admired his surroundings. Eden was a really beautiful planet. It was also a lot.... wilder, than he was used to. Which was both intimidating and exciting.
Eventually he came across a dock, and seeing a girl sitting at the end of it, decided to go say hello. Everyone knew everyone on Ruria, he felt weird not knowing so many of the people here.
"Hello miss. Pleasure to meet you." He said.

When Olive became unaware of her surroundings due to her thoughts, she really became unaware. Zoning everything out and focusing only on what was happening in her head at that moment. So as she was sitting there pondering her time on Eden, her sibling and whatever else flitted through her mind, she was very much startled when a voice entered her thoughts, informing her she was no longer alone. Instead of being able to look at the individual who joined her and respond, she jerked, quickly twisting her body around in shock to look at who had joined her.
As she looked at the person standing there, she quickly noted she did not know him. After a few more seconds she finally comprehended what he had said and felt the hint of a blush touch her cheeks. Taking a breath to calm herself, she smiled warmly. "Hello, names Olive. Pleasure to meet you as well." she responded conversationally. Normally she was much better at meeting people, but then again, his appearance had surprised her. And she didn't like to admit to herself that she was easily scared, it was just her body that kept betraying her mind set. At least that's what she told herself.

Petrica felt bad for startling her, she must have been lost in her thoughts or something because he's a pretty big guy and he's never been known for being particularly quiet. "Sorry for startling you miss" He said embarrassed. He wondered if he'd wrecked things already, he always seemed to be doing that. Messing up without meaning to. He rubbed the back of his neck and he could feel a blush creeping up to his cheeks. "It's just I don't really know anyone here yet so I thought I'd introduce myself. Back home everyone knew everyone so it feels really weird not knowing everyone." He got the feeling he was saying too much and shut his mouth, cutting off whatever it was that would have come out next. Great he thought to himself, now everyone here is going to think of him as a socially inept idiot just like they did back home.

She shook her head, waving off his apology. Really she just needed to pay more attention to her surroundings. Especially considering she was in a new place where she wasn't as sure of her environment and what was hazardous or not. It could end up being a fatal mistake. After all she was use to life on a boat, not on land. This land thing would take some getting use too. "No really, its okay." she smiled, realizing he had once again had called her miss. "I think we are all in the same boat as that. I have two siblings with me here, so I guess that's something." she responded again as she moved over on the dock, waving her arms in invitation for him to join her. Sure she didn't know him, but he was apologetic and didn't seem like a mass murderer. She figured if she had to, she could swim away anyways. "I am Olive." she said to him again, extending her arm and hand to him, another smile crossing her face. Then she added with a grin, "Now you are one person closer to knowing everyone." It was a pretty big goal to meet everyone, but at the same time, if he went around introducing himself, he would probably make it pretty far. It wasn't like everyone knew everyone here. It was new to everyone and they were all in on location for the most part.

Petrica was surprised to learn that there were siblings here, but then he felt silly for being surprised. He'd seen several groups of people at the introduction that he was now certain were siblings. He should have connected the dots earlier. He supposed she was right, aside from siblings everyone else was probably still getting to know each other. And with so many very different people, from very different backgrounds, he had a feeling it might be interesting. He smiled when she motioned for him to sit down. It made him feel like he hadn't messed up too badly and he gladly accepted the offer. When he dipped his feet in the water he shivered a little. He knew the water was supposed to be cold but it surprised him all the same. The water on Ruria was temperature controlled, like almost everything there, and was always very mild. "Thanks Olive." He said, smiling. "It's silly but I feel a lot better now."

She smiled, watching as he indeed accepted her invitation. She couldn't help but let out a chuckle when he shivered in response to his feet touching the water. It seemed her body automatically adjusted to it, whether from love of water or growing up always in the water. Either way she would accept it, so as long as it didn't go away. She kicked her feet once again, the smile remaining on her face as she watched the ripples go farther into the body of water until they disappeared, only to be replaced by new lines.
As he mentioned feeling better she turned back to him, nodding her head in understanding. She wasn't sure if it was her own introduction or allowing him to join her, feet in the water, but it didn't really matter. "The water always makes me feel better. I swear it has healing properties. I'm always out here." she responded! looking back out to the flat blue surface.
Looking back to him, she shrugged her shoulders as if to say, so what, I'm weird. She was curious to know his own name, but decided against asking. She figured he would eventually tell her, when he wanted or was comfortable enough to do so. Instead she said,"Its crazy that we are here hey? Who would have thought."

Petrica wondered briefly where she was from. The water comment made him think maybe Tunia but he wasn't really sure. He'd never met anyone from there before so he wouldn't know. She certainly seemed pretty comfortable around the water, where as he had never seen any body of water half as large as this one. He wondered if there were lakes like this on other planets and it was just people who grew up in ships that thought they were weird and big. He had the nagging feeling that he was forgetting something, but he couldn't quite put his finger on what. When he realized she was talking again he made himself pay attention, despite still feeling as though he was forgetting something. "Yeah it is pretty crazy." He said, looking out across the lake again. "I'd have never thought I'd windup someplace like this. I thought I was going to live my whole life on Ruria." He wondered what kind of life that would have been. He'd have his family sure, but he always felt like he was letting them down. And on Ruria he always felt like he was trying really hard to play a part he hadn't been given a script for. Since he had arrived here, he'd mostly felt pretty lost, like he wasn't even sure what part he was supposed to be trying to play. He wasn't sure which was better. Blushing, he realized what he had forgotten. "Oh yeah, my name is Petrica by the way. Sorry for forgetting." He said sheepishly.

Olive nodded her head. Who would have thought they would be on Eden. It was a weird adjustment, that was for sure. Especially considering Tunia was mostly water. There was definitely not this much land, they were always on the boat. Truth be told, Olive missed being on a boat. Having a land house was a strange concept, and it took her awhile to adjust to the missing action of waves rocking her to sleep. But hey that was life. You had to adjust, simple as that. As he mentioed being from Ruria, she found herself paying closer attention. She had never been, nor had she met anyone from the planet. "Oh whats it like there? I have never met anyone from Ruria. I am fron Tunia, as you can imagine, quite different from this place." she said with a slight laugh, kicking her feet again, causing a small splash at her feet. "Is it just you here? Or do you have siblings?" she questioned, wondering at the same time if he left his parents on his home planet. Hearing him finally introduce himself, Olive smiled largely. "Thats a nice name. Nice to meet you Petrica." she responded enthusiastically. It seemed to be a lapse of memory to introduce himself, not that she seemed like a psycho, so that was a comforting thought.

So she was from Tunia, he thought, after she confirmed his suspicion from earlier. When she asked about Ruria he thought for a moment before responding. He'd found he was less likely to say something stupid if he thought it out before hand. "Well most of Ruria is fields and pastures. We had a few creeks and ponds for the livestock to drink from, but nothing even half as big as this thing. And like, everything was temperature controlled for optimal producing, so the water was never this cold" He said, gesturing to the lake when he said 'this thing'. "I have five sisters, back home. But none of them got chosen." He said. Two of them had been two young anyway. It was the younger ones he missed the most. He'd never made tons of friends on Ruria, but he got on well enough with little kids. They made more sense to him, were more straightforward. Spending time with little kids was something he missed, he'd babysat for his parents and neighbors a lot. But he supposed younger kids would have a harder time being separated from their parents so it was for the best that no one under thirteen had been chosen. "What about you? What's Tunia like? I never met anyone from there before. Do you have any siblings with you?" He said, turning to look at her.

Olive listened attentively, her eyes watching him as he spoke of his home planet. It was strange to think of a planet that was mostly land. With Tunia it had been water... all things floating cities or houseboats. At least that was one aspect of Ruria that wasn't to crazy different, sure it wasn't regulated temperatures here in Eden, but she could only imagine sprawling fields and pastures to more of a landscape of everything mixed in. "It sounds very nice. I can tell you love it." she commented with a smile. "Five sisters? Thats crazy. I have two siblings. I couldn't imagine having two extra." she told him with a grin, although she felt bad that he had no family here. At least she was lucky in that aspect, her brother ensured that all three of them remained together after the loss of their parents. Apparently that was a good enough reason to approve all three. "I am lucky, both my siblings are here. We were package deal. My brother was the one to do all the applying." she admitted. Thinking of Tunia was both a happy and sad thought. The need to get away and start new was still there. Thats why they came to Eden. Tunia wasn't the same once her parents were no longer there. "Honestly, it was water, water and more water. We had floating cities and house boats. No sprawling lands of any sort. Its a bit weird not living on a boat to be honest." she said with a laugh.

He smiled when she said she could tell he loved Ruria. Thinking back on it, he did love the sprawling fields and pastures, the way the orchards looked at sun set, and the dew on the garden at sunrise. The people though, he wasn't sure it was accurate to say he loved them. He tried, that's what you were supposed to do right? But he was never very good at it. Which is probably why he spent most of his time with kids and animals back home.
He chuckled when she exclaimed about having five sisters. It had been interesting for sure growing up with that many younger siblings, but he had enjoyed it. As much as he always felt like he was letting his family down, they had always been there for him anyway. It was weird and lonely being here without them now.
"Sounds like you three are close" he said. "That's nice. Family is important."
He tried to picture Tunia, but honestly he had trouble picturing a body of water as big as this lake before he saw it, so a whole planet of water was a bit beyond his scope. Living on a boat sounded weird, but he guessed by the look on her face it was probably pretty pleasant. "Do you think you want to get a house boat here? I'm sure someone here could probably build one, maybe, eventually?"

Olive couldn't imagine leaving her siblings behind. She could only imagine how hard it must have been for him. The constant wondering of what they were doing or how they were would drive her crazy, especially considering they were never heading back to their home planets. Eden was home now, forever. For better or worse and all those other crazy marriage vows people took. As much as her sibling drove her crazy, she wouldn't survive without them. It was nice to hear him chuckle at her reaction though, and she grinned at him for it. As he spoke about her siblings she nodded her head quickly without thought. "Yes we are, we are all each other has, after our parents died we vowed never to seperate, that means planets." she told him with a smile as she turned to stare back out on the lake front.
As she watched him, she smiled again, watching him attempting to see her planet within his mind. It was quite different from what he was used too, especially if he figured this lake was big. She listened to his questions, thinking up answers as he spoke. She could easily see herself back on a boat, but only if the water body was larger than this. It wasn't just living on the boat, it was the changing locations that made it interesting and part of the experience. "If I could I probably would. I love the water, living on the boat, constantly traveling. But this is so secluded I think I'd rather stay on land and get used to it instead of driving myself crazy on this small amount of water." she admitted with a shrug.
"Eden is beautiful though, I can't believe I am here. It still seems surreal." she said after another moment of silence, her feet slowly pushing back and forth through the water as she gripped the dock beneath her.

Petrica was surprised to learn that her parents were dead. He couldn't imagine. But he definitely understood why she and her siblings would want to stick together after something like that.
Her comment about the lake not being big enough surprised him. It seemed quite large to him. He wondered if there were larger bodies of water on Eden. He hadn't noticed when they were flying in but he was so overwhelmed so he could have missed it. It made sense that she wouldn't want to wander off to try to find one right away though. It'd probably be best if everyone stayed pretty close for a while, to get more settled.
"Yeah, it is surreal." He responded, looking out across the water. "Feels like a new start though, and I think I needed that."

Olive stayed quiet, surprised that she had admitted her parents deaths so easily. For the first little while she could never bring herself to say that they were gone. It was denial to the extreme, but if she refused to say it, that meant they could come back. It made sense to her at the time. She was grateful to him for not trying to make her feel better, it always made her feel awkward. Another reason to leave that information alone in her mind, not sharing with the world.
Her explanation on living on a boat seemed to appease him, for he let the subject go. It was weird to think of living back on a boat after they had changed their lives so drastically to come here, be on land instead of on the open waters and go from a place where they knew many to where they knew limited.
Shaking herself from her thoughts, she looked back over to him. She agreed that this was a new start and she couldn't deny that it indeed felt surreal. "I think a lot of us needed a new start here. Its the perfect place. Our own safe haven to be who we want, to go where no one else has in a very long time."
