KALEB DONOVAN

Outgoing. This is the first word that many people would use to describe Kaleb and they might say it to you while rolling their eyes if they know him well enough. This is because he enjoys testing the limits and those close to him know that all too well. He's the adventurous type, always full of energy and ready to take on the next task. Sitting around waiting really isn't his style and if you make him wait then you'll probably catch him sitting back, gritting his teeth - waiting makes him more than a little bit anxious. He much prefers to quickly look at the facts of a situation and then dive right in so that he can get onto the next text. He's usually fast-talking and moving. Following plans? Yeah, he's not so into that and will usually improvise as he goes along. Routine just seems like such a drag to him.

Feelings. Kaleb's fast paced personality usually keeps him from thinking things all the way through. He'll say things that might be hurtful to other people without realizing or perhaps without considering that it matters that he's just hurt someone's feelings. He doesn't want to be intentionally mean but he simply doesn't know how to make a decision based on someone's feelings (and often thinks it's kind of silly of them to think that he should). Emotional things just aren't his strong point and it's the one thing he's usually a bit indecisive on. For example, he may tell you he's completely got it under control when someone is on an emotional rampage and then immediately throw his hands up afterward and walk away. This also brings up his not so charming trait of not managing to follow through with things. He loves new ideas but often will lose interest and want to move onto other things. And if you don't interest him? You can expect his eyes to be wandering and for him to look incredibly bored.

Kaleb Donovan was born on Asnarth. Neither of his parents were born on Asnarth, only leaving their home planets (his father from Tunia and his mother from Osqilon) when they felt that it had nothing to offer them. Each of them had dreams in the tech business and when their hard work had finally paid off they pushed their ideas onto their son. Because of their own success and knowledge, Kaleb's parents did everything in their power to give him a good education. They believed that with plenty of schooling and hard work that he could follow in their footsteps. However, things did not play out exactly how they had wanted them too. Even if Kaleb might have been smart he never did well in school. He was easily distracted and seemed to be completely detached from whatever was going on. He daydreamed and spoke out of turn, making him a very undesirable student. It wasn't until Kaleb decided to gear his education toward Medic rather than Tech that he showed any improvement in his schooling. The book work still bogged him down, but hands on was clearly where his skills shone.

Aside from schooling, Kaleb always had a difficult time getting along with his parents. With their high expectations and rules to live by he was just the right person to press their buttons and he theirs. He avoided being home for the most part and many of the people he knew couldn't wrap their heads around why. After all, the Donovan's were a fairly well off family. Kaleb had an attraction to trouble and it seemed to find him just as easily. He never kept with the same company very long since Asnarth always had someone and something new. That and he wasn't very good with having close relationships.

It was Kaleb's parents who had talked him into signing up for the Eden Project. Kaleb, doubting he'd ever be selected, went ahead and did it mostly to please his parents. Even if a whole new world and society sounded exciting he was hardly interested in leaving Asnarth. So when Kaleb was selected for the project he was filled with mixed emotions regarding it. While his parents danced around with joy Kaleb just did his best to bite his tongue and go with the flow.
